I wanna start giving you guys an insight into what my weekend looks like when I'm just at home in Brisbane, not half way across the world. I wanna show you that you don't have to spend thousands of dollars to see epic spots but the best spots can be found right where you are. This is one of those spots.
Burleigh Heads is roughly an hour from Brisbane and a place I love to head down to on a weekend where I feel like lazing around the beach sipping on a coffee and eating an acai bowl. It has some world class surf and a world class sunrise to match. So what I like to do is gather some friends and head down there for a sunrise to start the new day off right.
Cock Rock is a name used by the locals and has become super well-known through the power of social media. Even for sunrise there are still some groups of people with the same idea of catching the sunrise which can be a bit of a bummer. Because of this I won't be able to give you the exact details of how to get there, but just know that the sunrise from anywhere along the coast is magical.
Even though I've visited Burleigh Heads countless times, coming here with old and new friends helps me experience it in new ways. Sometimes it's simple things like a sunrise that are needed to help you see the world in a new perspective and understand that we are but a small dot in this world compared to what's around us.
So go outside and experiences places you might've seen a thousand times but go with new friends, go at sunrise, go with new expectations. You'll be surprised with what you might find and experience.
Stay safe but not to safe,
